SOPA and PIPA are two bills in Congress aiming to stop piracy online. SOPA stands for "Stop Online Piracy Act" and PIPA stands for "
Preventing Real Online Threats to Economic Creativity and Theft of Intellectual Property Act " I don't agree with what they are trying to do. In a way, I understand people want their property protected, but there are all these record and movie companies only concerned with themselves. They could not care less about the artists or actors they represent. So many websites will be shut down, by just linking to a site with pirated material. It's scary to think that by downloading or uploading a song illegally, I could go to jail or be fined $150,000, when the problem could be fixed by making me pay the $1 it's worth. That's how I'd change the bill - make it so people must pay for the amount the song, movie, etc would have cost had they bought it. No matter what, piracy will never end completely.
