Why I Am An Artist

Why am I an artist? Because for me, there is no other way to live. You'll always find me singing, dancing, rehearsing, practicing lines, writing, playing guitar or doing improv. I need the arts to keep me sane. Nothing in the world is angry or hurtful or painful in my poetry or stories or songs unless I want it to be. It's like the ultimate control. There's a certain thrill associated with performing, at least to me. Making the audience laugh, gasp, or cry is what I live for. I just like to know I'm not alone.
I'm an artist, are you?

  1. I know what you mean. Some people just don't understand artists.
